On November 3rd, 2020 the people of the Great State of Mississippi voted overwhelmingly in favor of Initiative 65 to make medical marijuana available to our citizens with debilitating medical conditions through programming administered under the care of a physician.
Our program identifies 22 qualifying debilitating conditions that are proven to respond positively to medicinal marijuana. These include cancer, chronic pain, epilepsy, PTSD, Parkinson’s disease, glaucoma, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and more.
The Mississippi Department of Health is in the process of establishing the Mississippi Medical Marijuana program for our state. The underlying goal is to have the program up and running with medical marijuana available for purchase in licensed Mississippi cannabis dispensaries (treatment centers) by August 15, 2021.
Regulations for all aspects of the medicinal marijuana program, including cultivation, production and licensing for the sale of medicinal cannabis, must be set in place by July 1, 2021 by the MSDH.
